My daughter was doing something nasty the other day and in all my stupidity, I threatened her: "I will slap you!" And then you know what she replied? "No, you won't slap me, mommy". I asked, "Really? Why do you think so?".

Her answer struck me:
"Because you have told me that slapping people is bad".

Yes, they do call us out on our hypocrisy! =)

The important thing about not using a slap as punishment is that it's actually easy for a kid to understand the difference between hitting and a pat on the bottom :D
