Brave Ellie Challis, 7, plays football with no arms or legs
Amazing Ellie Challis is playing football for her school team — despite having no arms or legs.
The soccer-mad seven-year-old whizzes about the pitch on special prosthetic legs, like the ones used by South African Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius.
Yesterday proud mum Lisa said: "It's something that we never thought we would ever see. She is just the most gutsy and remarkable child."
Ellie had all four limbs amputated in a life-saving operation in 2005 after contracting meningitis and developing septicaemia. ...
As sad as her story is, Ellie's courage cannot help but make you smile. It is an inspiration for all the kids suffering the pain she went through, and their dear ones too. Amazing is too weak a word to describe the admiration she deserves. And she is also an Arsenal fan! =)
