South African wins Wildlife Photographer Of The Year with heartbreaking snap

Brent Stirton, a South African-born photographer, recently walked away with a prestigious award at the Natural History Museum of London’s ‘2017 Wildlife Photographer of the Year’ competition

Stirton’s work has been widely featured in publications such National Geographic Magazine, Le Monde, Vanity Fair, Newsweek, TIME, The New York Times Magazine and others.

But the image that won is pretty damn striking. Picked from over 50 000 entries from 92 different countries, it stands out.
