LJ will cater to new users

I was pointed to this LJ-news today... In fact I stopped reading those LJ staff announcements a long time ago because there are thousands of whining comments there and the changes that are being announced somehow always turn out more useful than detrimental to LJ.
I think LJ seeking a membership boost has been long overdue. They have to adapt because in the meantime their rivals are not sleeping. If we calm down and wait what happens maybe we'd realise that they're actually trying to improve something rather then destroy the platform.
That said, having a backup plan like DreamWidth is never a bad thing =)

Date: 2012-01-22 03:16 pm (UTC)I like the changes so far and find them useful. People just don't like change. Every time Facebook changes, people complain and complain, but then they suck it up and keep using the site. It's just like I hate it when my cable company changes the menu. I get used to it and can't remember what I didn't like about it a year later.
