Farewell, Hotmail.com!

Hotmail to be replaced by Outlook.com in Microsoft switch

Microsoft is overhauling its free webmail service, dropping the Hotmail brand it has used since acquiring the product in 1998, and adopting the name Outlook.com.

The new webmail service integrates the firm's Skype video chat functions

I haven't used Hotmail for like a decade. I once checked my old Hotmail inbox, and it was full with 5000+ spam mail. I hit "delete all" without checking anything, and never looked back.

I had two email addresses I'd give when I knew the address would end up on a sales list somewhere. My hotmail one was one of them. Now I'll have to find another site to register for spam. :P

Well I used mine specifically for spam- meaning that if I was registering for anything I knew would probably end up on a list somewhere, that's the one I got. So I fully expected spam there.

while "outlook" does sound more optimistic, it doesn't sound as hot/sexy as hotmail does it? :(( lol
